Individual Movements

1. The Loony Dook

Every New Year's Day, some hardy individuals run into the icy waters of the Forth for a "dook". They are loonies. This is their march!

2. The Burry Man

During the Ferry Fair in South Queensferry (which takes place in August), the Burry Man dressed in a suit of burrs lumbers around the town, obliged to drink  whisky at all stops. This piece pictures what might happen if too much whisky is consumed……..

3. Queen Margaret

Queen Margaret (d. 1093) also known as  Saint Margaret, is the “queen” referred to in the names of both North and South Queensferry. Margaret did charitable works, serving orphans and the poor every day before she ate, and washing the feet of the poor in imitation of Christ.

4. The Bridges

There are now three iconic bridges crossing the River Forth between North and South Queensferry.  This movement captures the movement of people and traffic across these historic spans.
